Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 1.61% or 0.2850 points to trade at 18.0100 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 0.91% or 0.115 points to end at 12.765 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) was up 0.72% or 0.023 points to 3.220 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 4.83% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.2760 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 3.76% or 0.022 points to end at 0.563 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 2.94% or 0.0790 points to 2.6120.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 22 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 3.83% or 1.92 to $48.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 4.73% or 2.28 to hit $45.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.73 to trade at $1292.77 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1252, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8709.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 96.70.
