Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX), which rose 6.45% or 49.00 points to trade at 809.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) added 6.29% or 5.26 points to end at 88.91 and MiMES Rostelekom OAO Pref (MCX:RTKM_p) was up 3.82% or 2.20 points to 59.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which fell 3.88% or 2.66 points to trade at 65.84 at the close. Mostotrest (MCX:MSTT) declined 3.16% or 2.60 points to end at 79.70 and Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) was down 2.44% or 14.0 points to 560.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 147 to 75 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.56% to 40.800.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.40% or 4.40 to $1107.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.66% or 0.74 to hit $43.89 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.18% or 1.56 to trade at $47.48 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.60% to 67.377, while EUR/RUB fell 0.88% to 76.220.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.41.
