Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 2.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 9.78% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.1010 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 4.12% or 0.2890 points to end at 7.2990 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 4.00% or 0.0007 points to 0.0182 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 1.38% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.501 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) added 0.14% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.7080 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) gained 0.83% or 0.0090 points to 1.0980.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 38 to 7 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.32% or 1.11 to $48.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.44% or 1.13 to hit $47.46 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.56% or 7.40 to trade at $1317.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1055, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.8294.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 96.31.
