Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which rose 1.40% or 0.20 points to trade at 14.52 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 1.11% or 0.54 points to end at 49.27 and Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) was up 0.89% or 0.22 points to 25.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which lost 3.41% or 0.205 points to trade at 5.800 in late trade. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) declined 0.86% or 0.043 points to end at 4.972 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) shed 0.70% or 0.04 points to 6.42.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 53 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.63% or 0.83 to $51.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.80% or 0.86 to hit $48.59 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1254.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.0844, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8680.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 99.19.
