Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Industrials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which rose 1.75% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.800 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 1.73% or 0.270 points to end at 15.870 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 1.36% or 0.35 points to 26.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 2.86% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.136 in late trade. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) declined 2.39% or 0.350 points to end at 14.300 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) shed 1.72% or 0.200 points to 11.400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 9 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.65% or 1.18 to $45.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.52% or 0.25 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.65 to trade at $1344.85 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.02% to 3.3087, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7029.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.58.
