Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 2.28%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 10.34% or 0.2700 points to trade at 2.8800 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 6.56% or 0.224 points to end at 3.640 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) was up 5.62% or 0.28 points to 5.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which rose 0.38% or 0.025 points to trade at 6.605 at the close. Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) added 0.70% or 0.17 points to end at 24.58 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) was up 1.31% or 0.42 points to 32.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 148 to 41 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 3.25% or 1.18 to $37.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 4.37% or 1.58 to hit $37.72 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.50% or 5.40 to trade at $1068.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.0874, while EUR/GBP fell 1.04% to 0.7312.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 98.62.
