Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Other and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.26% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aoc (TW:6289), which rose 10.00% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Gintech (TW:3514) added 10.00% or 2.00 points to end at 22.00 and Scpc (TW:1720) was up 10.00% or 3.20 points to 35.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Giantplus (TW:8105), which fell 5.99% or 0.80 points to trade at 12.55 at the close. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) declined 4.96% or 0.60 points to end at 11.50 and Phytohealth (TW:4108) was down 4.33% or 1.30 points to 28.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 538 to 298 and 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.26% or 0.12 to $46.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $48.71 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.50 to trade at $1171.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.15% to 32.365, while TWD/CNY fell 0.10% to 0.1965.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.93.
