Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.44% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which rose 0.66% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.9160 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS) added 0.28% or 0.0200 points to end at 7.1040 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was down 0.26% or 0.0300 points to 11.5050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which fell 3.22% or 0.3850 points to trade at 11.5850 at the close. Sonae (LISBON:YSO) declined 2.67% or 0.0290 points to end at 1.0570 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was down 2.56% or 0.0001 points to 0.0038.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 41 to 9 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) fell to all time lows; down 2.56% or 0.0001 to 0.0038.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.76% or 0.36 to $48.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.61% or 0.27 to hit $44.75 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.86% or 21.10 to trade at $1152.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.1244, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.7372.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 95.98.
