Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were FCC (MADRID:FCC), which rose 9.34% or 0.705 points to trade at 8.251 at the close. Meanwhile, Acerinox (MADRID:ACX) added 5.44% or 0.540 points to end at 10.460 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) was up 2.49% or 0.176 points to 7.240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek), which fell 4.64% or 0.051 points to trade at 1.048 at the close. Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG) declined 1.22% or 0.091 points to end at 7.375 and Mapfre (MADRID:MAP) was down 0.45% or 0.012 points to 2.660.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 138 to 66 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.93% or 10.40 to $1133.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 6.88% or 2.93 to hit $45.49 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 6.11% or 2.90 to trade at $50.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1163, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.7261.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.57% at 96.29.
