WARSAW, Aug 12 (Reuters) - Poland's grid operator PSE said
it would lift power consumption limits for the biggest power
users from 1100 GMT on Wednesday, as the country faces a
continued heatwave that stretches its outdated power plants'
capacities.
Earlier on Wednesday, PSE introduced the 16th degree of
power supply on the scale of 11 to 20, where 11 means in
practice almost no supply limits, while 20 indicates the
sharpest restrictions.
The heat wave and lack of rain have cut water levels in
rivers used to cool coal-fired power plants from which Poland
generates about 90 percent of its electricity. ID:nL5N10L2QJ
