Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, S&P Lima Juniors and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 1.92% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.530 at the close. Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE) added 1.85% or 0.100 points to end at 5.500 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was up 1.83% or 0.004 points to 0.222 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which lost 13.33% or 0.800 points to trade at 5.200 in late trade. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 4.86% or 0.024 points to end at 0.470 and Unacem (LM:CEL) shed 3.12% or 0.070 points to 2.170.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 4 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.41% or 0.16 to $39.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $40.78 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.16% or 2.00 to trade at $1221.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3645, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7748.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 95.99.
