Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 6.12%, while the SZSE Component index declined 6.56%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Sh Shenhua (SS:600653), which rose 10.05% or 0.760 points to trade at 8.320 at the close. Meanwhile, Black Peony (SS:600510) added 10.04% or 1.290 points to end at 14.140 and Guanhao (SS:600433) was up 10.03% or 0.930 points to 10.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Baotou Steel (SS:600010), which fell 10.06% or 0.510 points to trade at 4.560 at the close. Ganyue Express (SS:600269) declined 10.06% or 0.690 points to end at 6.170 and Xinyu Iron (SS:600782) was down 10.06% or 0.70 points to 6.26.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were China Baoan Group Co Ltd (SZ:000009) which rose 10.02% to 11.75, Chengdu Huaze Cobalt & Nickel Material Co Ltd (SZ:000693) which was up 10.01% to settle at 22.63 and Beijing Jetsen Tech Co (SZ:300182) which gained 9.99% to close at 45.68.
The worst performers were Chengdu Xingrong Investment Co Ltd (SZ:000598) which was down 10.05% to 7.61 in late trade, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co Ltd (SZ:000157) which lost 10.05% to settle at 6.71 and Shenzhen Yan Tian Port Holdings Co Ltd (SZ:000088) which was down 10.04% to 9.68 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 937 to 27.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 1.67% to 30.37.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.80 to $1117.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.77% or 0.33 to hit $42.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.37 to trade at $48.37 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.15% to 6.4040, while EUR/CNY rose 0.00% to 7.0857.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 96.94.
