Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Sports and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which rose 4.29% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.730 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) added 3.49% or 1.30 points to end at 38.56 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 3.45% or 0.010 points to 0.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which lost 9.12% or 3.30 points to trade at 32.90 in late trade. Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) declined 5.97% or 0.98 points to end at 15.43 and Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE) shed 4.42% or 0.080 points to 1.730.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 233 to 110 and 65 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.37% or 4.25 to $1137.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.34% or 0.71 to hit $53.73 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.23% or 0.69 to trade at $56.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.36% to 3.5252, while EUR/TRY rose 0.40% to 3.6877.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 103.03.
