Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Diversified Financials, Telecoms and Software & Computer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which rose 7.65% or 0.7 points to trade at 9.3 at the close. Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OL:DETNOR) added 4.81% or 4.65 points to end at 101.40 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) was up 3.26% or 4.3 points to 136.2 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG), which lost 3.79% or 5.50 points to trade at 139.50 in late trade. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) declined 2.94% or 0.8 points to end at 26.8 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) shed 2.65% or 0.16 points to 5.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 66 and 20 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.67% or 1.33 to $48.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.81% or 1.44 to hit $49.88 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.45 to trade at $1323.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.63% to 9.2783, while USD/NOK rose 0.07% to 8.4045.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.75% at 96.41.
