Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 7.58% or 0.230 points to trade at 3.264 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 6.10% or 0.5450 points to end at 9.4800 and Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) was up 5.80% or 0.1360 points to 2.4800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Campari (MI:CPRI), which fell 4.35% or 0.34 points to trade at 7.48 at the close. Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) declined 1.96% or 1.05 points to end at 52.40 and Finmeccanica (MI:SIFI) was down 1.82% or 0.190 points to 10.240.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 218 to 196 and 13 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.43% or 0.14 to $32.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.97% or 0.34 to hit $34.70 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.24% or 14.10 to trade at $1155.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP rose 0.93% to 0.7678.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 96.62.
