Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Telecoms and Travel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 5.70% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.445 at the close. Meanwhile, Iaso (AT:IASr) added 5.06% or 0.020 points to end at 0.415 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 4.76% or 0.11 points to 2.42 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr), which fell 6.81% or 0.068 points to trade at 0.930 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 5.63% or 0.090 points to end at 1.510 and Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) was down 4.56% or 0.33 points to 6.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 47 to 39 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 1.91% or 23.70 to $1215.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.00% or 0.59 to hit $28.85 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.32% or 1.11 to trade at $32.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1153, while EUR/GBP rose 0.89% to 0.7798.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.81.
