Baseball-Major League Baseball roundup

July 26 (The Sports Xchange) - Los Angeles Dodgers
right-hander Zack Greinke had his scoreless innings streak ended
at 45 2/3 innings during the third inning Sunday against the New
York Mets.
The streak was the fourth-longest in baseball history and 13
1/3 shy of Orel Hershiser's record of 59 scoreless innings Aug.
30-Sept, 28, 1988.
It also was behind scoreless streaks of 58 by Hall of Famers
Don Drysdale and 47 by Bob Gibson in 1968, which is regarded as
the year of the pitcher.
Greinke was reinstated from the paternity list to start
Sunday's game. He was scheduled to start Friday night in New
York but returned Thursday morning to Los Angeles, where wife
Emily delivered their first child, son Bode Nicholas. Greinke
(9-2) led the majors with a 1.30 ERA going into Sunday's game.
The Dodgers also recalled right-hander Yimi Garcia from
Triple-A Oklahoma City. Garcia is 3-2 with a 4.10 ERA over 37
1/3 innings in 40 games in the majors this season.

shoulder.

Class A Charlotte as he works to return from a groin injury.

Cleveland Indians outfielder/first baseman Nick Swisher, who
has made two rehab appearances at Double-A Akron, is scheduled
to make two more, Sunday and Monday.
Swisher has been on the disabled list since June 14 with
left knee inflammation.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Scott Van Slyke injured his
neck Saturday in a New York City cab when the driver slammed his
brakes, but manager Don Mattingly said the player was feeling
better Sunday.
- - -
St. Louis Cardinals left-hander Jaime Garcia (groin) is
penciled in to come off the 15-day disabled list and start
Tuesday night against Cincinnati.

San Diego Padres outfielder/first baseman Wil Myers suffered
what is hoped to be a minor setback in his rehab from June 18
surgery to remove a bone spur from his left wrist.
Myers swung a light bat for the first time Saturday and
reported soreness in the wrist afterward. He will fly to Arizona
Monday to be examined by Dr. Don Sheridan, the doctor who
performed the surgery.
Right-hander Brandon Morrow felt fine after his 40-pitch
rehab with Triple-A El Paso Saturday night and is scheduled to
throw four innings or 60 pitches Thursday.
- - -
Colorado Rockies right-hander Brooks Brown (right shoulder
inflammation) is scheduled to throw 25 pitches and face hitters
Monday at Triple-A Albuquerque and then make three rehab
