TORONTO, July 24 (Reuters) - A member of the Brazilian water
polo team competing at the Pan American Games is involved in a
sexual assault investigation, Toronto police said on Friday.
Police did not name the athlete but said in a statement they
will hold a news conference at 1 p.m. ET (1700 GMT) to discuss
the investigation.
Brazil have 13 competitors in both the men's and women's
water polo at the Pan Am Games, a quadrennial multi-sport
competition between countries from North America, Latin America,
South America and the Caribbean.
The Brazilian men's team won silver in the water polo and
the women's team took bronze.
