Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals, Food Producers & Processors and Holding Companies sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares rose 2.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Snep (CS:SNP), which rose 9.96% or 11.95 points to trade at 131.95 at the close. Lesieur Cristal (CS:LESU) added 7.05% or 8.95 points to end at 135.95 and Cosumar (CS:CSMR) was up 6.54% or 20 points to 325 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX), which lost 5.60% or 8.90 points to trade at 150.00 in late trade. Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO) declined 4.72% or 57 points to end at 1150 and Zellidja S.A (CS:ZELI) shed 3.70% or 5.00 points to 130.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 31 to 16 and 4 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.74% or 0.39 to $52.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.94% or 0.51 to hit $54.97 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.24% or 2.70 to trade at $1130.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.37% to 10.6360, while USD/MAD rose 0.12% to 10.1781.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 102.96.
