Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Electricity, Rubber and Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.17% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lead Data (TW:2443), which rose 10.00% or 0.63 points to trade at 6.93 at the close. Precision (TW:3016) added 9.95% or 2.15 points to end at 23.75 and Danen (TW:3686) was up 9.93% or 0.74 points to 8.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Space Shuttle (TW:2440), which lost 4.72% or 0.47 points to trade at 9.48 in late trade. Genius (TW:3406) declined 4.27% or 8.00 points to end at 179.50 and Cx Tech (TW:2415) shed 4.12% or 1.30 points to 30.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 409 to 357 and 110 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.25% or 0.13 to $53.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.27% or 0.15 to hit $55.87 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.35 to trade at $1235.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.21% to 31.002, while TWD/CNY fell 0.27% to 0.2221.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 100.26.
