Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 4.39% or 0.0420 points to trade at 0.9990 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 3.91% or 0.0980 points to end at 2.6060 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was up 2.70% or 0.011 points to 0.419 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 1.36% or 0.155 points to trade at 11.245 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.12% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.2660 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 0.71% or 0.0220 points to 3.0880.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 2.54% or 1.29 to $52.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.74% or 1.31 to hit $49.15 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.14 to trade at $1231.84 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.0974, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8499.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 98.80.
