Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 5.69% or 1.220 points to trade at 22.670 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 2.38% or 0.550 points to end at 23.700 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 2.26% or 1.540 points to 69.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which lost 0.71% or 0.270 points to trade at 37.970 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 0.67% or 0.310 points to end at 46.070 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) shed 0.51% or 0.46 points to 90.59.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 136 to 110 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.12% or 1.60 to $1281.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.67% or 0.32 to hit $47.34 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.51 to trade at $49.44 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.76% to 18.3407, while EUR/MXN fell 2.06% to 20.6465.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 96.76.
