Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Leasing & Factoring, Banking and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 6.37% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.670 at the close. Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 3.03% or 0.26 points to end at 8.85 and Sabanci Holding (IS:SAHOL) was up 2.87% or 0.27 points to 9.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which lost 1.98% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.46 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 1.98% or 0.020 points to end at 0.990 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) shed 1.84% or 0.030 points to 1.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 170 to 152 and 84 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.30% or 3.75 to $1266.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.71% or 0.35 to hit $49.48 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.70% or 0.35 to trade at $50.23 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.23% to 2.8572, while EUR/TRY fell 0.68% to 3.2493.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 93.47.
