Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 1.19% or 0.17 points to trade at 14.48 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 0.87% or 0.90 points to end at 104.50 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 0.84% or 0.24 points to 28.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 3.39% or 0.84 points to trade at 23.95 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 1.43% or 0.57 points to end at 39.31 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 0.89% or 0.640 points to 71.150.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 55 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 10.31 to $1285.21 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.71% or 0.35 to hit $49.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.26 to trade at $55.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1748, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.52.
