Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 3.26% or 2.42 points to trade at 76.61 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 2.06% or 1.320 points to end at 65.400 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 1.94% or 0.77 points to 40.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 0.94% or 0.13 points to trade at 13.67 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 0.44% or 0.420 points to end at 94.320 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) shed 0.31% or 0.20 points to 64.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 47 and 20 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.50 to $1203.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.39% or 0.29 to hit $75.52 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.54 to trade at $85.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1522, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 95.35.
