Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.07% or 2.900 points to trade at 97.240 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 1.40% or 0.65 points to end at 47.00 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 0.48% or 0.078 points to 16.308 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 1.38% or 0.85 points to trade at 60.70 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.34% or 0.34 points to end at 25.04 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 1.24% or 1.15 points to 91.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 47 and 24 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.98% or 13.20 to $1338.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.01% or 0.67 to hit $65.47 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.47% or 1.03 to trade at $69.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.2357, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8800.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 89.34.
