Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 0.42% or 0.18 points to trade at 42.83 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.28% or 0.12 points to end at 43.43 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.11% or 0.080 points to 71.090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which lost 0.93% or 0.87 points to trade at 93.18 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 0.83% or 0.30 points to end at 35.92 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) shed 0.69% or 0.10 points to 14.39.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 58 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.39% or 5.10 to $1296.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $59.61 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.12 to trade at $65.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1951, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8885.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 92.31.
