Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which rose 0.79% or 0.23 points to trade at 28.80 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 0.79% or 0.46 points to end at 58.69 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 0.77% or 0.34 points to 44.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB (BR:UCB), which lost 2.74% or 1.77 points to trade at 62.74 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.37% or 1.020 points to end at 73.430 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 1.27% or 0.195 points to 15.155.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 59 to 54 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.74% or 9.54 to $1272.56 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.30% or 0.17 to hit $57.13 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.21 to trade at $62.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1889, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 93.05.
