In its equity client flow trends note to clients this week, BofA analysts said there were continued stock and ETF inflows last week, with the firm's clients net buyers of US equities for a fourth week.

According to Bank of America, clients bought both single stocks and ETFs, with bigger inflows into the former. The firm's institutional clients were net buyers (alongside corporates) for a third consecutive week, while hedge fund and retail clients were net sellers for the first time in three weeks and fifth week, respectively.

Meanwhile, corporate client buybacks accelerated and are "tracking above the typical seasonal levels at this time for the first time in four weeks."

The investment bank also noted more communication services inflows, while there were outflows in the healthcare sector.

The "outsized" communications services inflows continued, said BofA, with the sixth largest weekly inflow in their data history and "record inflows most weeks YTD." It also has the longest recent buying streak of any sector at 19 weeks.
