Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 1.72% or 0.66 points to trade at 38.70 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) added 0.84% or 0.085 points to end at 10.200 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.39% or 0.180 points to 46.055 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 1.57% or 0.44 points to trade at 27.52 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.13% or 0.32 points to end at 28.00 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 1.04% or 0.45 points to 42.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 49 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.86% or 23.70 to $1296.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.90% or 0.84 to hit $45.16 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 0.86 to trade at $45.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1428, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.7912.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 93.63.
