Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Banking and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 2.28%, while the ADX General index gained 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 8.70% or 0.140 points to trade at 1.750 at the close. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) added 6.67% or 0.033 points to end at 0.528 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was up 3.17% or 0.240 points to 7.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which lost 6.00% or 0.039 points to trade at 0.611 in late trade. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) declined 3.85% or 0.05 points to end at 1.25 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) shed 3.61% or 0.070 points to 1.870.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which rose 6.67% to 0.480, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was up 4.21% to settle at 0.99 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 3.92% to close at 0.530.
The worst performers were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which was down 9.77% to 1.20 in late trade, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which lost 5.47% to settle at 1.90 and Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 5.00% to 1.90 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 4 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 19 rose and 5 declined, while 1 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.19% or 0.07 to $36.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.80% or 0.31 to hit $38.36 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1222.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.04% to 4.1866.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 94.46.
