Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.14% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 3.08% or 0.0230 points to trade at 0.7690 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 2.96% or 0.0910 points to end at 3.1650 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 1.39% or 0.0810 points to 5.9040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 8.33% or 0.0190 points to trade at 0.2090 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 2.22% or 0.3300 points to end at 14.5500 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 1.24% or 0.0330 points to 2.6370.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 20 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 2.12% or 0.95 to $43.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.14% or 0.93 to hit $42.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1224.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.02% to 1.0743, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8606.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.98% at 99.96.
