Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.88% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6), which rose 5.11% or 0.81 points to trade at 16.65 at the close. Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) added 3.67% or 0.81 points to end at 22.90 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was up 3.33% or 0.46 points to 14.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which lost 5.39% or 0.83 points to trade at 14.58 in late trade. Ultrapar Participacoes SA (SA:UGPA3) declined 4.18% or 2.13 points to end at 48.85 and Cvc Brasil ON (SA:CVCB3) shed 3.49% or 1.53 points to 42.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 247 to 172 and 25 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.83% to 33.32.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.25% or 3.30 to $1302.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.31 to hit $66.67 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.93% or 1.09 to trade at $116.33 .
USD/BRL was down 0.13% to 3.7157, while EUR/BRL rose 0.28% to 4.3811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.59.
