Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Information Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Patec Precision Industry Co Ltd (TW:2236), which rose 10.00% or 6.70 points to trade at 73.70 at the close. Enlight Corp (TW:2438) added 9.96% or 0.91 points to end at 10.05 and Jenn Feng (TW:1538) was up 9.88% or 0.66 points to 7.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tex-Ray (TW:1467), which lost 9.91% or 0.98 points to trade at 8.91 in late trade. Pihsiang (TW:1729) declined 9.86% or 2.10 points to end at 19.20 and Silergy (TW:6415) shed 8.43% or 51.00 points to 554.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 426 to 348 and 100 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.43% or 0.21 to $49.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.41% or 0.21 to hit $52.03 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 4.79 to trade at $1234.79 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.28% to 30.066, while TWD/CNY rose 0.26% to 0.2301.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 98.54.
