Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which rose 5.34% or 0.6625 points to trade at 13.0725 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT) added 2.32% or 0.2140 points to end at 9.4260 and Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) was up 1.63% or 0.0165 points to 1.0265 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS), which fell 2.35% or 0.1860 points to trade at 7.7140 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) declined 2.15% or 0.0075 points to end at 0.3415 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) was down 1.85% or 0.0100 points to 0.5300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 34 to 33 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) fell to all time lows; losing 2.15% or 0.0075 to 0.3415.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.18% or 0.10 to $53.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $48.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.38% or 4.10 to trade at $1089.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.0903, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.7001.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.62% at 97.82.
