Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 2.87% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Konecranes Oyj (HEL:KCR1V), which rose 0.22% or 0.07 points to trade at 32.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V) fell 1.43% or 0.36 points to end at 24.74 and Fortum Oyj (HEL:FUM1V) was down 1.50% or 0.24 points to 15.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V), which fell 6.91% or 0.3000 points to trade at 4.0420 at the close. Valmt (HEL:VALMT) declined 5.32% or 0.56 points to end at 9.96 and KONE Oyj (HEL:KNEBV) was down 4.02% or 1.53 points to 36.53.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 145 to 31 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.50% or 0.25 to $49.96 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.14% or 0.06 to hit $43.14 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.30% or 14.40 to trade at $1122.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.32% to 1.1187, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.7152.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.15% at 96.12.
