Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Software and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.13%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.18%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 2.70% or 0.640 points to trade at 24.380 at the close. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 1.43% or 1.220 points to end at 86.500 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) was up 1.41% or 1.650 points to 118.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG), which lost 2.81% or 0.259 points to trade at 8.949 in late trade. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 1.58% or 1.62 points to end at 101.10 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) shed 1.20% or 0.114 points to 9.420.
The top performers on the MDAX were Norma Group AG NA O.N. (DE:NOEJ) which rose 3.96% to 69.500, Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which was up 3.35% to settle at 51.86 and Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which gained 2.22% to close at 54.300.
The worst performers were Talanx AG NA O.N. (DE:TLXGn) which was down 1.72% to 33.060 in late trade, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which lost 1.36% to settle at 25.3200 and RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which was down 0.99% to 65.000 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 4.43% to 21.680, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 4.14% to settle at 11.060 and SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which gained 2.74% to close at 35.65.
The worst performers were S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was down 1.92% to 19.890 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 0.95% to settle at 47.920 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was down 0.93% to 31.060 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 368 to 341 and 78 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.03% to 15.97.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.27% or 3.50 to $1300.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.39% or 0.25 to hit $65.00 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.60 to trade at $74.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1706, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.8750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 93.94.
