Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer & Cyclical, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.10%, while the MDAX index declined 1.00%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG), which rose 1.63% or 0.132 points to trade at 8.228 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 0.64% or 0.063 points to end at 9.839 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) was up 0.58% or 0.115 points to 19.870 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which lost 2.41% or 5.20 points to trade at 210.80 in late trade. Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) declined 2.30% or 2.55 points to end at 108.40 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) shed 2.05% or 0.450 points to 21.460.
The top performers on the MDAX were Metro AG (DE:MEOG) which rose 0.97% to 6.460, Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was up 0.63% to settle at 76.900 and Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which gained 0.62% to close at 37.620.
The worst performers were Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which was down 2.81% to 49.42 in late trade, RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which lost 2.69% to settle at 63.400 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 2.57% to 18.985 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 2.84% to 20.260, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 1.41% to settle at 9.182 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which gained 0.84% to close at 20.380.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 3.35% to 36.920 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which lost 3.34% to settle at 32.380 and SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which was down 3.21% to 22.65 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 507 to 200 and 77 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.91% to 17.44.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.79% or 9.50 to $1197.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.37% or 0.26 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.20 to trade at $78.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1567, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.9017.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 95.48.
