Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Industrials and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.46%, while the MDAX index gained 0.97%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGN), which rose 5.97% or 2.105 points to trade at 37.360 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (XETRA:HEIG) added 3.66% or 2.450 points to end at 69.450 and Bay.Motoren Werke AG ST (XETRA:BMWG) was up 1.60% or 1.440 points to 91.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:VOWG_p), which fell 1.38% or 2.550 points to trade at 182.400 at the close. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (XETRA:FMEG) declined 1.06% or 0.800 points to end at 74.330 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (XETRA:ALVG) was down 0.86% or 1.300 points to 149.100.
The top performers on the MDAX were Airbus Group (XETRA:AIRG) which rose 3.61% to 64.501, Hochtief AG (XETRA:HOTG) which was up 3.34% to settle at 79.430 and Kuka AG (XETRA:KU2G) which gained 2.94% to close at 78.060.
The worst performers were Tag Immobilien AG (XETRA:TEGG) which was down 2.56% to 10.290 in late trade, Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (XETRA:SZUG) which lost 1.57% to settle at 15.025 and Brenntag AG (XETRA:BNRGn) which was down 1.02% to 50.630 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which rose 6.55% to 5.401, Drillisch AG O.N. (XETRA:DRIG) which was up 3.23% to settle at 38.490 and Kontron AG O.N. (XETRA:KBCG) which gained 3.12% to close at 3.573.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which was down 6.29% to 33.685 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (XETRA:S92G) which lost 4.03% to settle at 30.220 and Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which was down 2.30% to 45.320 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 476 to 260 and 41 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hochtief AG (XETRA:HOTG) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.34% or 2.570 to 79.430.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 19.30.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.60% or 6.50 to $1095.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.90% or 0.92 to hit $47.60 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.40% or 0.74 to trade at $52.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.93% to 1.1035, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.7056.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 96.98.
