Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Household, Financials and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 5.05% or 0.0048 points to trade at 0.0996 at the close. European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) added 2.85% or 0.100 points to end at 3.610 and Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) was up 2.23% or 0.04 points to 1.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 3.81% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.227 in late trade. Elastron SA (AT:ELSRr) declined 2.88% or 0.0400 points to end at 1.3500 and Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT:INCr) shed 2.77% or 0.035 points to 1.230.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 46 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.60% or 7.30 to $1216.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.86% or 0.59 to hit $68.17 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.44% or 1.07 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1673, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8895.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.43.
