Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 12.88% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.170 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 5.33% or 0.0024 points to end at 0.0474 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) was up 4.04% or 1.0350 points to 26.6250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr), which lost 8.45% or 0.086 points to trade at 0.932 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 7.96% or 0.078 points to end at 0.902 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) shed 4.58% or 0.200 points to 4.170.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 42 and 25 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.77% or 9.40 to $1219.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.45% or 0.23 to hit $51.86 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.40 to trade at $60.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1286, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 97.308.
