Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 6.36% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.117 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 5.88% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.0360 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was up 4.64% or 0.019 points to 0.440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which lost 4.04% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.356 in late trade. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 3.58% or 0.055 points to end at 1.480 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) shed 2.90% or 0.1300 points to 4.3500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 34 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.80% or 10.30 to $1284.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.10% or 1.46 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.93% or 1.64 to trade at $57.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1405, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.8965.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 95.708.
