Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 2.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Intralot (AT:INLr), which rose 20.37% or 0.077 points to trade at 0.455 at the close. Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) added 14.73% or 0.081 points to end at 0.631 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 13.03% or 0.0640 points to 0.5550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reds (AT:CAMr), which lost 9.68% or 0.075 points to trade at 0.700 in late trade. Elastron SA (AT:ELSRr) declined 3.49% or 0.0400 points to end at 1.1050 and Kekrops SA (AT:KEKr) shed 2.70% or 0.0400 points to 1.4400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 68 to 38 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.25% or 3.10 to $1232.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.39% or 1.20 to hit $51.49 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.34% or 0.79 to trade at $59.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1393, while EUR/GBP rose 0.53% to 0.8910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 96.662.
