Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 5.54% or 0.074 points to trade at 1.410 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 5.07% or 0.700 points to end at 14.500 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was up 3.74% or 0.220 points to 6.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intralot (AT:INLr), which lost 3.95% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.510 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 3.84% or 0.003 points to end at 0.073 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 3.55% or 0.0200 points to 0.5440.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 54 to 52 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.27% or 3.40 to $1243.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.60% or 0.85 to hit $54.10 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.45% or 0.90 to trade at $62.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1349, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8906.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 96.945.
