Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 8.47% or 1.000 points to trade at 12.800 at the close. Karatzi (AT:KRTr) added 7.76% or 0.450 points to end at 6.250 and Reds (AT:CAMr) was up 2.67% or 0.020 points to 0.785 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 8.75% or 0.0042 points to trade at 0.0438 in late trade. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 4.35% or 0.050 points to end at 1.100 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) shed 3.45% or 0.500 points to 14.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 32 and 24 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.47% or 5.80 to $1248.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.61% or 1.91 to hit $50.98 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.20% or 1.97 to trade at $59.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1381, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8901.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 96.678.
