Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC), which rose 2.61% or 0.18 points to trade at 7.14 at the close. ENI (MI:ENI) added 1.44% or 0.24 points to end at 16.68 and Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) was up 1.43% or 0.072 points to 5.090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT), which lost 3.46% or 0.57 points to trade at 16.05 in late trade. Prysmian (MI:PRY) declined 2.20% or 0.59 points to end at 26.19 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) shed 1.87% or 0.180 points to 9.430.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 182 to 180 and 26 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.40% or 0.28 to $70.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.18% or 0.91 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1319.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1975, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 92.24.
