Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 2.12% or 0.0360 points to trade at 1.7330 at the close. Meanwhile, Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) added 1.95% or 1.65 points to end at 86.30 and Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) was up 1.43% or 0.12 points to 8.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediolanum (MILAN:MED), which fell 7.81% or 0.630 points to trade at 7.435 at the close. Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) declined 7.42% or 1.98 points to end at 24.70 and Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) was down 1.95% or 0.33 points to 16.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 273 to 190 and 2 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.32% or 0.69 to $52.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.77% or 0.45 to hit $58.60 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.20 to trade at $1154.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1006, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.7063.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.85.
