Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB), which rose 1.69% or 0.52 points to trade at 31.32 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 0.65% or 1.40 points to end at 215.45 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) was up 0.54% or 0.18 points to 34.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which lost 3.48% or 0.78 points to trade at 21.61 in late trade. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 1.91% or 0.054 points to end at 2.768 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 1.65% or 1.030 points to 61.480.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 50 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 14.71% to 15.54.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.86% or 0.46 to $52.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.45% or 0.25 to hit $55.24 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.90% or 10.85 to trade at $1215.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0724, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.8595.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 100.33.
