Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP), which rose 2.41% or 0.0540 points to trade at 2.2960 at the close. Mediaset (MI:MS) added 1.15% or 0.044 points to end at 3.878 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was up 0.87% or 0.0300 points to 3.4740 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which lost 4.68% or 0.216 points to trade at 4.396 in late trade. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 4.13% or 1.01 points to end at 23.46 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) shed 3.55% or 0.0132 points to 0.3588.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 249 to 147 and 28 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.02% or 0.49 to $47.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.23% or 0.60 to hit $48.33 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.77% or 22.55 to trade at $1251.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1203, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.7669.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.30.
