Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which rose 7.01% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.168 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) added 2.04% or 0.050 points to end at 2.500 and Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) was up 0.37% or 0.050 points to 13.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relapasa (LM:REL), which lost 8.11% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.204 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 7.77% or 0.008 points to end at 0.095 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 6.67% or 0.030 points to 0.420.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 4 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 5.24% or 1.88 to $37.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $39.75 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.37% or 4.50 to trade at $1225.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3925, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8274.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 94.49.
